Booking a flight with Ryanair

Ryanair makes it easy to register the wheelchair for passengers with handicaps. It can simply be done during the online purchase. But in order to apply for further requirements, one has to call an expensive 0900 number (0900 116 0500 €0.62 per minute from Germany – English speaking). But still, after having called that number, I am not sure, whether I get what I asked for.

A short excerpt from my hotline talk with Ryanair:

Ryanair hotline: Good day, what is the problem?

KM: Good day, I just booked a flight with Ryanair. Now I would like to apply for assistance to get to the toilet facilities in the plane.

Ryanair: Sorry Sir, but we don’t have such a service.

KM: Well, this is part of the EU regulation which is also binding for Ryanair.

Ryanair: Hold on a second, Sir.

comes back after a minute and says: Sir, like I told you, we don’t offer such a service.

KM: Please register that I applied for the assistance to get to the toilets and send me a confirmation via email about this application.

… (more to come, for sure)
